Errick D. Simmons
Ward 6

Maude Bryant Park, Delta Center Stage, Fanny Arnold Park, Alice Bell Park, King Daughters Hospital and the Village Shopping Center are all in Ward 6. Errick D. Simmons is Greenville’s youngest and newest city councilman. He was elected on December 10, 2007 and began his public life on January 2, 2008.  Errick serves as City Councilman for Ward 6, where he has strong family ties, graduated from high school, attends church, and serves his constituents.  Councilman Simmons currently serves on the Ordinance Committee and the Public Safety Committee for the City.

Errick was born on December 12, 1976 in Greenville, the proud son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Simmons, Jr . Errick matriculated through Greenville Public Schools where he graduated second in his class at T. L. Weston High School in 1995.  He later studied at Jackson State University and Howard University, where he received a Bachelor in Business Administration in Economics in 2000, a Masters in Arts in Economics from its Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 2002, and a Juris Doctorate in 2005.(www.simmonspllc.com)

Believing that our children/youth are Mississippi’s most natural resource, Errick is also Youth Court Public Defender and Guardian Ad-Litem in Washington County.  Errick was recently gubernatorially appointed to the Children’s Justice Act (CJA) Task Force by Governor Haley Barbour. 
 
In service as an attorney, businessman, community leader, youth advisor, father, and man of God, Errick continues to forge his place in the hearts of those he serves.  Errick contributes back to his community as the Sponsor of Cooper and Simmons (C&S) Little League Sluggers, Youth Mentor of WWISCAA Mentor Program, and Board Member of United Way of Washington County.

Errick is also a proud member of the Greenville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Errick is a member of the Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville.
