• Cured a $4 MILLION dollar budget crisis
• Secured over $3 MILLION dollars in federal and state funding for Greenville
• Passed a $10 MILLION dollar street bond issue for neighborhood streets
• Lobbied and received $1.5 MILLION to complete Washington Avenue AFTER the state funds had been denied to Greenville
• Decreased the violent crime rate by over 50% in THREE years
• Increased the number of Felony Drug arrest from 32 in 2004 to over 180 in 2006.
• Increased the starting salary for competitive Police Officer pay
• Expanded the downtown tax abatement to include Nelson Street and Alexander streets and started the downtown facade grant program
• Increased tax incentives and promoted community to bring more jobs to Greenville
• Began Employee Appreciation programs for all city employees
• Began the needed repairs of neighborhood school sidewalks to provide our children safe routes to school.
• Started the Community Council Meeting program to take the city council to the communities in which we serve
• Began the Ward Tour program to see first hand the needs of each part of the city.
• Expanded the Mayor’s Youth Council to include 50 students from all parts of Greenville.
• Began the Mayor’s Minister’s Breakfast group to keep our church community actively involved and praying for our city.
