The City Clerk’s office is pleased to serve as a gateway for those interested in doing business in the City of Greenville. The office provides procedural information, required documents and fulfills requests needed by business entities, citizens and other governmental agencies.

Responsibilities of the City Clerk’s office are as follows:
• Serve as the Custodian of the Corporate Seal of the City
• Attests and maintains the official record of ordinances and resolutions, adopted by the City Council
• Maintains records concerning appointments and memberships to City Boards, Commissions and Committees
• Maintain records affecting the day-to-day operations of the City
• File all employee bonds
• Issues privilege licenses
• Provide staff support to the Mayor and City Council
• Manage the advertisement of legal notices
• Processes and houses financial reports
• Processing payment of bills to vendors
• Payroll processing
• Receiver of bids placed by contractors and presides over bid openings
* Preparation and Monitoring of City Budget
* Reporting to Federal and State Agencies
* Performance of Fiscal Oversight for the City
