Mid-Delta Regional Airport has received a 4.4 million grant in the form of an American Recovery & Investment Act grant to rehab runway 18L - 36R.
Operations/Safety
The Mid Delta Regional Airport has made great strides during the past several years in safety related projects and airfield improvements. Several million dollars have been applied to enhance the operational and safety aspects of the airport. The number of operations has remained steady despite construction projects and operations are expected
to greatly increase in the future. An additional Crash Truck has been added to the arsenal of the Fire Station along with advanced training for all Firemen. Please rest assured your safety and comfort is our first concern.
Fixed Base Operator
A key element to any successful airport is a first class Fixed Based Operator (FBO). In July 2005, Greenville Aero Services took possession of Building 278 and invested over $25K in renovations and repairs. The FBO has a state-of-the-art flight planning room, pilot’s lounge, break room and a great new lobby. The FBO provides all the necessary mechanical needs to support a wide variety of aviation customers. Finally, Greenville Aero teamed up with Eastern Aviation Fuels to provide top quality fuel delivered through specialized fuel trucks. A Charter Service is available through the FBO. The addition of Greenville Aero to Mid Delta Regional Airport has restored quality into the airport. Greenville Aero has outstanding customer satisfaction which has had a direct impact on fuel sales and our overall success.
Airport Industrial Park Tenants
The Mid Delta Regional Airport continues to attract and retain aviation businesses to the Mississippi Delta. In 2005 Universal Aerospace Services (UAS) entered into an agreement with the City of Greenville for the use of Hangar 173. In addition to corporate and general aviation aircraft painting, UAS also provides aircraft storage and limited airframe maintenance.
A restaurant is located on the second floor of the terminal building serving passengers as well as employees located on or around the airfield. The restaurant is the River City Café. Their food is not only outstanding, but very affordable.
